Advisory Board

Stretch-n-Grow wouldn’t be the successful children’s fitness franchise system that it is today without our dynamic, knowledgeable Advisory Board members. Some of them have been with us for over 10 years—talk about a concept they believe in!

Beth Cannon - A certified education teacher, Ms. Cannon holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, plus five national certifications for group fitness instruction: AFFA (Aerobic & Fitness Association of America) Primary, AFAA Step Reebok, Body Systems Training Instructor, National Fitness Association, and USWFA (United States Water Fitness Association). She developed wellness programs for several schools in the Arlington ISD. As the owner of the Stretch-n-Grow franchise in South Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, she is actively involved with the program and has worked extensively to position Stretch-n-Grow as the premier fitness program for children. She is the author of the Stretch-n-Grow Youth Fitness Standards, compiled in 2002, and our Director of Training.

Karen Fetner - Ms. Fetner is the TAHPERD (Texas Association of Health, Education, Recreation and Dance) Elementary Physical Educator of the Year for 2001-02. She holds a Masters of Science in Physical Education from Texas A&M University, and has taught physical education for fifteen years. She is former Adjunct Professor of Kinesiology at Dallas Baptist University, and she is actively involved in the American Heart Association “Jump Rope for Heart” program. She is an avid fitness enthusiast, and she is active with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Linda Kubly - Ms. Kubly is a Registered Nurse with a Masters Degree in Nursing of Children and over twenty years experience in a variety of healthcare settings. Much of her expertise centers on children with asthma and other pulmonary conditions. Her many achievements include being a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing and she has been published in Issues in Comprehensive Pediatric Nursing and Rx Home Care. Ms. Kubly also has an extensive background in developing quality improvement systems and linking them with established standards of nursing practice. In February, 2001, Ms. Kubly purchased an existing Stretch-n-Grow franchise, through which she continues to work toward improving wellness in children.

Cynthia H. Robinson - Ms. Robinson holds a B.S. in Early Childhood Development and a Masters in Elementary Education from Steven F. Austin State University. She has been an educator for sixteen years and specializes in programs that enhance the social and emotional development of children at the preschool and kindergarten levels.

Bas Nair, M.D. - Royal Colleges of Physicians of London and Canada in Pediatrics; American Academy of Pediatrics. He was one of the physicians in charge of the Track and Field athletes for the Junior Olympics in 1994. His expertise lies in the correlation of the effects of exercise and nutrition and proper growth patterns in children.

David Ladden, M.D. - B.S., Duke University; M.D., Rush Medical College, Chicago; Diplomat, American Board of Surgery and National Board of Medical Examiners.
